The classic checks usually associated with Canada are reinterpreted to reflect the Scottish heritage of the country, whilst Tartan graces wax jackets and traditional 'fur trapper' coats.
Reds, purples, green and blues feature heavily, referencing the northern lights and traditional Canadian outdoorsman shades. These are punctuated with fresher, softer tones and shades.
"Down" features prominently in the collection, the most notable pieces including the parka and the polished carbon coated cottons. Pieces are trimmed with Aztec tapes or lined with Northern Light prints inspired prints.

Gonjasufi
A Sufi and A Killer, the debut album by mystical psych-hop singer Gonjasufi is one of the best records of the year. Produced by The Gaslamp Killer, Mainframe and Flying Lotus, it's very weird, but breathtakingly original. Check the weird vibes:

Pictureplane is amazing. His tracks "Day Glowwed" and "Goth Star" have been on rewind in the Dazed office for weeks... and still sound so good! Hear more of his strange electro-pop beats here:

Rapper Jay Electronica has been getting a lot of hype recently – apparently he's going to save hip-hop. Early signs are good, but judge for yourself:

I LOVE Javelin. They make nostalgic synthy beats that I guarantee everyone will be playing this summer. Keep an ear out for their debut album No Mas which comes out in May:

If you're a fan of Danger Mouse's The Grey Album, you'll love Tom Caruana's mash up of The Beatles and the Wu Tang Clan. It should be terrible, but is actually pretty amazing. You'll have to hunt around for it though... start the hunt here:

Laptop guru Caribou has just made Swim, the album of his career. Full of rare Ethiopian samples and disco breaks, it is a modern dance classic. It comes out in April, but check out some of the tracks here:

Sister World, the new record by rock trio Liars is a brutal, dirty piece of essential noise. My favourite track is "Overachievers".

Settings, the debut EP from tribal synth pop crew Tanlines is pretty cool too. Get a taste here:

Warrior One seems to be kicking out some pretty amazing remixes at the moment too – I love his Bonobo dub:

"Mr Petersen", the delicate ballad by former wild child Perfume Genius may make you shed a tear, so avoid if you're feeling weepy:

If you haven't heard of Georgia's lo fi wizard Toro Y Moi yet, make sure you change that this instant! Causers of This, his debut album, is all gold:
http://www.myspace.com/toroymoiPantha Du Prince
My last selection has to be Pantha Du Prince. He makes minimal electronica inspired by Black Noise – sounds that are inaudible to human ears. Go figure?!
